Just crossed the 3000 ly from start mark heading towards the 5K mark.

Going on holidays tomorrow with Elite books for the beach and a shitty joystick for the nights...just in case :)

Mining NPC interdictions are beyond laughable

Screw it, I might as well head back in to Farseer Base and grind engineer rep..

The mining NPC interdictions are beyond laughable.

I finally realized the logic hasn't changed much since 2.1 was introduced, at least when it comes to mining. The only reason I hadn't noticed prior was because once I upgraded to an Anaconda, I stopped mining almost altogether. It's much more profitable to run 400t+ of cargo, than mine. That wasn't so much the case in a Python, let alone smaller.

But now since I'm mining again to get engineering components, I'm back to being interdicted, and it's quite laughable. Although with 3-4x the shielding I now have in my Anaconda versus my Python prior, thanx to bigger and better output plus engineering, let alone the efficient burst lasers, multi-cannon and charge-focused distributor, I turn pirates into poo rather quickly, while they cannot bring my shields down.

I honestly don't know how I survived before an Anaconda. Oh, that's right ... I didn't once 2.1 hit. I was getting killed virtually every time I mined for any length of time.

He's not a real Canadian.
A real Canadian would never take vacation during the hunt for the Grey Cup.

And for those that say real Canadians watch Hockey instead, I have to bring up one of my favorites from a few years back. Definitely love to rub this one in the faces of my friends in Toronto who don't do CFL. ;)

Came back and heard from Dawg there were some issues. See That Bob has a New Mug, Kharma is Dying, Dawg is Bitching. Ok, somewhat normal. Log in and was 2km above a planet. no Thrusters. Somehow I turned FAoff and could not figure out how to turn it on before my DBS splattered itself on the surface. Weeeee! What a start.

Now back in the station and heading to get Arnie the Anaconda. Need to pick up some commodities for a Lvl 5 FSD on him.

Anyone Miss me? :P

Chris Evans has left, or is leaving, TG. TG isn't TG anymore. It's a spinoff of the once popular show, just like TG:Russia, TG:Australia, etc. It should just be called TG:UK.. since it's not the real show. I don't care about watching it anymore anyway, so a moot point.

I don't mine for credits. I'm an elite trader. If I want credits, I'll go shieldless grind max cr/t cutter runs. I mine to enjoy a different aspect of the game, and to try and find engineer materials. I just find it a bit ridiculous in its' current state.

*Edit* Forgot to say what I was doing in game:
I am about to plot a journey back out towards jaques on my old route, at 2-3KiLY out. Hoping once I am at least 2,000LY out, NPCs will frak off when I am mining.

Nice to know. I still need credits. Maybe I should change my profession.... "I knew I'd find you eventually, all that tasty cargo!"

Lol, what I meant is that's how I can rake in the cash if I need it fast. I can grind out many more million cr/t/hour if I trade, since that's what I am best at. I know people talk about how mining is so profitable, but 3 hop routes are infinitely faster and better for me. I'm an Elite Trader, which means trade is my bread and butter. It's what I know to do well.

Also, pretty sure you've triggered some trauma by quoting that line.. My brain was going "drop out of cruise now or try and jump to the next system" before I really thought about it. I wish I could buy the scanners and superluminal drives used by NPCs. Anyone else remember having 10-20 NPCs following you from somewhere like Fehu, doing the 3-5 million CR mission spams, where you'd have as many missions' worth of cargo stacked in your hold. That was always fun/interesting, considering how many of those didn't have the jump range or fuel to do so..

Just got Grade 5 access with Martuuk, after interesting hours of jumping over rocks, not such interesting high wake scanning, some nights of exploring and grading up by both explo data and a final low-upgrade-marathon.
Makes 36ly jump range with a fully kitted Rattaconda and 45ly/47ly with the optimized Rasp.

Well that s a good feeling.
