Hadn't planned to (literally) jump ship that soon from my T6, but made the trip to Tsu and couldn't resist the guile of the salesman ("-20% guv, honest", or so he claimed!).
So I'm now the proud owner of a shiny Asp Explorer :D

Decided to change things up and do some trading for a bit, so traded my Vulture in for a T7 and doing some runs. Looking to get a Python...

Colin The Grey wrote:...You have to remember the ships you see are only the ones in your sensor range - it's more than likely that 20km away an Anaconda is in a furious battle with system security. You could be fighting a Cobra 5km below the field - while 5km above a Clipper has just popped in...

While we're offering general RES advice, here's my contribution. If you have more than one large ship to pop, prioritise them by smallest size first, then "age". Dropship < clipper < python < anaconda. If you start with the biggest, or the biggest bounty, you may end up polishing off the 'conda at the same time the NPCs kill the dropship. If you kill the dropship first, it's almost certain that the 'conda will still be available for taking on. Go through with your sequence, though. If you see (say) clipper and anaconda, and when you finish off the clipper, you see a new large ship has dropped in, take on the old 'conda first because he'll have already been taking damage from NPCs.

And always hit their power plant. And if you're using thermal weps, have a break when the plant is at 20% before finishing it off. If it's down to 1% and you're at the ragged end of your laser charge, you might find an NPC gets a lucky hit on the power plant so you lose the bounty. Pausing at 20% lets you fully recharge lasers and you can be the one dealing the killer blow to the plant. I've noticed that if you're mashing the fire button with no power in your lasers, even with four pips to weps you still end up losing the bounty about 20% of the because an NPC gets a lucky shot.

i returned to Federation space to buy another Ferdie and a new FSD and fuel scoop, so i could ferry her home to LHS 317 - we made it there alive, which is always a good thing.

now i'm about to have a quick poke around in Leesti before i take the Vulture back to Facece again for the final hours of the community goal.
