Has anyone else come across a member of our group that has no name in game?

That's weird but is it a commander? I suspect if it was it would still have the "Cmdr" in there somewhere.

Yes, if you zoom in on the first image you'll see I'm targeting a ship that's a hollow square and I was playing in our group at the time:

Ah, nicely spotted. That is very strange then. I have noticed the odd Commander flying around with the old #Alpha backer 1234 but never a blank like that. Man (or woman) of mystery.

I'd recommend filing a ticket about it. It's either a bug or an exploit, IMO.

A Little off-topic, but maybe the commander name has that "Non Breaking Space" blank character (ALT + 255) Looks like space, but not the same character (Space is ALT +32)
I do not know, what kind of character sets can be used in the game when giving the commander name, but if is it the normal extented ASCII-characters, I know several situations that "nbsp" was sometimes used of trolling like

Edit: Noticed that the forum software convert the nbsp to normal space.
