What recording software do you commanders use to record your game play footage? I tried to use Wegame and Camstudio but could not get them to record my game, they recorded my mouse moving around my desktop while I was in game.

I use MSI Afterburner, it's FREE and does an excellent capture.
You can download it from here;

http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

It's mainly a GPU overclocking utility, but it has built-in video capture capability.
I've tried a lot of solutions but I always come back to MSI Afterburner, it just gets better and better with each version.
Did I mention it's free, lol.

OK, It may look complicated but it's actually pretty easy.
Once you install it, go to Settings - Video Capture tab (not screen capture, that's for pictures).

Set your Capture Key; I use F12 (as I don't have an Oculus Rift)
The default compression is very good, MJPEG, as no third party codecs are required to play files.
I like to set the Frame Size to 16:9 1080p, but the default video setting are a good starting point.
The default quality of 85% is also good to keep file sizes relatively small, increasing quality naturally will increase file size.
Set your video folder to desired location, preferably on a separate drive from ED but not necessary.

And that's about all you'll need to do to get capturing in-game.

I might do up a better tutorial for the Tips & Tricks section at some point.

I have Afterburner but when I push my designated "record" key, nothing happens.

Never mind, I didn't know it only works in game :P . I had a noob moment there.

I've been using OBS to stream to Twitch (and save a copy to HDD). It's been working pretty well, but you might need to tweek the settings to make it run smoothly. I also seem to be able to stream about 4 hours at a time before it freezes.
