Getting pretty burnt out

Between the Cemiess & Facece Empire community goals coupled with the (since 1.2) increase in bounties i'm pretty burnt out right now with E: D

The combat was always fun .... but then i made enough money to buy and eventually upgrade to my dream ship ... a top-end Python .... back in december when i 1st started i thought it would take me all year to get here..... but now its barely April and i'm there....

RES combat is superb for making money ..... but its too easy .... there's no danger or feeling i'm outgunned by the NPC's
When your'e in a wing i feel its penalised even more since without fail i've found the spawn rate / quality drop when other players come in... which makes it even more hollow since then ur just buzzing from ship to ship erasing them without blinking.

I thought i'd try out the 200k bounty reward missions thinking facing a wing with an Elite Anaconda at the helm surely would make a challenge ... but no ... can make 1/2m per mission with the reward + bounty

I'm now Count with Empire .... fetching and carrying missions are dull...
I think i need to head out into the void and do some big-distance exploring while 1.3 arrives maybe towards end of month

Sorry for the moan .... just having a bit of a bad E: D day :)

Why don't you get an Eagle, to have some fun around RES. You have no obligation to use your Python all the time! :)

Or you could give yourself challenges. For example if you're not too used to fly with FA off, pretend it's malfunctioning and do a whole RES session without it. That kind of stuff.

Those are both great ideas Flip!

I recently did the Exploring Community Event just to get my feet wet with Exploring. It's kinda challenging when one needs to plan a scan route through a system with many planets/objects. It's a challenge to be efficient at navigating a system for Detailed Surface Scans. I would recommend it for a change of pace. You can outfit a Hauler in D class with a A Frameshift and big Fuel Scoop for 2M credits for cheap Exploration thrills. It handles great and with a good config, can run you really, really far when your scooping at 30+LY. Here's the loadout I used, and it was fantastic, and CHEAP!

For me, my wall was my first 2 weeks in the Type 9. I felt like the game was work, and was beginning to loose interest. There have been some great times in the game, and I have a RL friend or 2 that plays regularly, so I really needed to find something new, or just GET AWAY from what was grinding (literally) me. Stepping away from my regular grind and doing something new pretty much did the trick...I'm still not back in the T9 trading yet, but I'm having fun again...there will always be credits to be made, and having fun should be #1.

you should try the RES at my home system at LHS 317, and work it until the local pirate clan hates you.

frequently you'll be suddenly set upon by about 7 small/medium attackers, which can bring your shields down in no time and dissipate any feelings of invincibility you might have had. and just to add a bit of spice, it often occurs just as you have committed yourself to attacking/tanking a larger enemy and are already absorbing fire from it.

occasionally you'll be hit by a second wave of 7 before your shields have recovered from the first one.

this mechanic probably works everywhere, but i've only ever seen it myself happen so often at LHS 317.

I like the Eagle idea. A good time could be had in small ships. And if you have a huge buffer of credits, the insurance is blip. Cheap Fun.

I really do like the Eagle. And I do think a Wing of Eagles would be great fun against the Big Ships. Being buzzed by One Mosquito is annoying. But a bunch of them is a pain in the butt. :P Same Idea.

I headed back to my Freagles Nest to have a break from the usual Vulture bounty hunting trips to "Freagle in a Wing" playing. Love the ship, and with Wings, it is fine to get into a RES or even a high-intensity CZ and have some fun ... requiring Wing coordination to stay alive indeed. No problem with the higher rewards :) while Winging feels like being punished from a financial angle. Which is not that impofrtant to me as having fun with others.

I also am about to buy a T6 for Rares, just to see how a brick of gold steers through the void.

Lastly, Convoy trips might be interesting. If the challenge is high enough, that is. Pair some T9 with precious load, some smaller fry like T6 and Haulers, and a proper escort and head for some really hot system.
