Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I was wondering if it is possible to find out what system you started in without having to restart?

Asking as I wanted to create a backstory for my commander. If not I will just pick one at random lol

There are several.... I started in a HIP one.... a lot started in Eravate too

Wonder if I tried the current beta and reset my save there would I start over only in the beta? Would my main save in the primary server be okay?

In my experience, all the betas started at the same place for everybody, and that place had no relation to where you started in the main galaxy (and yes, there are many different starting places in the non beta galaxy).

Buy a cheap ship, then fly it into the wall of the station. On the rebuy screen, you get told which is your start station if you were to take the free sidewinder option.

I done exactly that. Well not exactly... Well actually I was trying to fly my kitted Cobra between the arms of an Orbis station (I popped it at the back end of it) and, er, missjudged my trajectory... I hit the arm with afterburner

My shields actually held up quite well as when I saw I was going to hit I pipped into them, but I got tangled and couldn't get free and made for a shiny explosion!

Thankfully I have more than enough money for the insurance so that wasn't an issue (other than my pride at being a burk ) but it enabled me to find out (as you suggested somewhat more cheaply) where I started Apparently I was a resident of Banks Port in Reshas Some back end system for extraction and industrial manufacture - there isn't even a terraformed planet! Although makes a great start for my character now
