Player groups can rise to a power.
So imagine the Mobius group, with it's many members, all deciding to help a small minor independent faction. Then that faction starts to expand (with our help) and becomes a power.

As i understand it, solo and group play both effect the galaxy just the same as open. So we could help build our own power, not by PvP, but my helping supply the missions needed.

Would there be any takers do you think.

This has been discussed in a couple of other threads, the main issue is that making Mobius a Power would basically mean everyone playing in Mobius aligning themselves to the same faction. This is itself goes against the very concept of the group which is fundamentally about people playing however they want in the confines of a PVE only environment.

You'll also notice that there are already some friendly rivalries between the major faction supporters in the group, so it would be difficult logistically to get everyone on one side, and actually not something that is in the nature of the ideals of the wider group.

That said, there is nothing wrong with a 'Faction Fleet' taking up the cause for a faction, then anyone who wants to align them selves to that Power can do so, but the whole of Mobius, no.

yes i was more thinking of just having a recriuting drive, try to get as many members as we can, and choose a small independent faction, not really aligned with any large power, and escalating it to a power with our help.

In the ED thread it states that pilots who contribute quite a lot to the power, has a big say on where it expands to, so in effect this group could control that power.

It's a interesting idea, but I think you only get a say in an existing Power, so by definition you would be aligned to that Power and with one exception Powers are aligned to major factions.

That said, I suspect we will see that people will start to group around powers once 1.3 has been out for a while, so you could run a recruitment drive for your chosen Power, as I said the Faction Fleets are the place to do this.
