Starport infraction death - Dangerous?

Sitting at Hart station waiting for a respawn of rares and I watched a NPC get blown up. It got be thinking, isn't that a really bad idea? I mean there are those little yellow trucks moving around and, eventually hopefully, people going about their daily business - going to the control towers, getting into/out of ships, etc.
Sitting in my shielded ship it doesn't bother me (other than damaging shields a little) but some of those hull fragments are pretty large (seen a 'Conda get blown up before). Could you imagine being a lowly little human walking around and a massive 50t bit of metal coming towards you?!
Maybe I am thinking too much while I wait LOL

I never thought about that before, but you're right.. the debris would be a major hazard to any foot traffic in the docking area. And so would the laser fire! Although it seems to be set up with a lot of individually weak lasers that add up to murderous strength when they converge - so any ships just passing by that get accidentally hit by one or two of the lasers aren't damaged too badly. They will sometimes come through the station deck/walls and hit my ship while I'm in the hangar. That would surely reduce a poor traffic controller or dock worker to a pile of bones!
But I have to expect that the docking area buildings and all those shuttle trucks are heavily hardened against the debris and lasers, so everyone probably scrambles for the nearest doorway or idle vehicle at the first sign of trouble.

Ooo new announcement for the tannoy:
"Infraction detected, lasers firing in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, attack initiated"
once destroyed:
"Infraction removed - be aware of dangerous floating materials in the docking bay"

Hmm.. yeah, I'd appreciate those warnings when walking around the station... although I don't think I'll spend much time in the docking bay!

Yeah this has been my thinking as well, the last thing you would want in enclosed low gravity area was a dozen 50 ton pieces of debris bouncing all over the place...
It's not just a hazard to foot traffic but anything, not protected by a force field, those debris pieces from a clipper are bigger than most control towers.
I am no physics expert, but in my experience when a big moving thing smashes into smaller stationary thing it's usually not so good for the smaller thing.

What I always found terrifying is the fact how a single thing as parking in the wrong spot results in DEATH!
A "bit" harsh if you ask me

Oh, I don't know. I often consider blowing up my neighbour's car when he parks in front of my garage.
