Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I've made a pretty penny so far in my first week running shipments with the skull on them off of the bulletin boards. But when I look at my stats, it says "value of smuggled goods, zero". Now I know that what I've done is technically called "covert" cargo, but then what qualifies as "smuggling" for this stat? Does it need to be stolen goods? I thought I was smuggling.

I believe the smugling stat is the goods sold on the black market . But I'm not so sure about it so can be wrong.

The missions probably pay better anyways.

And Han Solo isn't a good role model, he is constantly getting caught by bounty hunters and what not and he thinks parsec is a unit of time when anyone knows it's a measurement of distance.
A good smuggler doesn't leave dead bodies in bars

Yes, the smuggled good only pertains to items you sell in the black market. Regular smuggler missions you pull off the bulletin board will not show up there.

Items sold to the black market include things like looted/pirated items, or items you find floating in space that others left behind..etc..etc... I know when I get interdicted by PVE sometimes they drop cargo when I shred them to pieces... I will scoop those items up and go sell them on the black market, as they are listed as "stolen" in my cargo hold.

I got my Python pretty much completely from running those BB missions, so I was also very confused at first when the numbers never budged.

It's kind of a shame that I don't have meaningful stats because of this though... I wish they would have just separated what we both consider "smuggled" goods and Black Market/Stolen Goods into different categories instead of just choosing one and mislabeling it.

Not Quite. Higher Rank means Larger Payout for those BB smuggling missions. Same with any mission on the board.

Not only that, but I want some bragging rights with my brother. Gameplay-wise, most of the stats are meaningless, but it's cool to have a sense of accomplishment from seeing that you moved enough Imperial Slaves to populate 3 solar systems in the span of a month.

And nobody gets the hitchikers guide to the galaxy quote I was parsing a there ....
