Surprise, surprise - a new revenue stream is born.

Yeah I did see it. But being on Galnet is putting it to a larger audience. Very few of the players of the game are involved in Reddit or the FD Forums.

If it was done free of charge then it is awesome, but if not then I don't really know what to think.
With the vastness of just the human inhabited section of space I am under the opinion that Frontier could probably give a memorial to every player in the game and still have room even if they stuck to just uninhabited systems. Personally I would rather fly past and see uninhabited systems named for individuals rather than the current garbled display of stellar cartographic data.
I hope this sets a precedent for Frontier and they keep it up.

I saw it in the weekly email, and while I couldn't imagine wanting to do something like that myself (too late for that anyway!), I thought it was a good and decent thing for Frontier to do.

It may be on Galnet on the Website, but I did not see it on the Galnet feed in game. But then again, It also appears the In Game feed has not been updated since Thursday.

Hello,
I read the Reddit and the posts on FD's forums.
It was done for free. It's coming in the 1.4 update. Beta testers have confirmed it's existence.
Regards.
PS: FD surprised the CMDR who asked for it. The Sataris was willing to pay cash.
