Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I just wanted to apologise. I have missed some peoples chats in the game, sometimes as I simply didn't hear the msg ping (or see the msg pop up in the window), I may have been in the galaxy map, could have been debug camera-ing or, in one case yesterday, I saw someone (don't know who ) send me a msg just as I logged my game off).

I offer my most humble apologies. I try to reply to all msg's sent.

I do wish though that Frontier provided a better chat option. One that separates out NPC and PC and also allows for recording all msg's sent and received - even if that is only done on the local machine as part of a log file. Also I wish the msg system worked from the launcher as well - at least so you could review the msg's you have received outside the game. Also it would be nice if you could send a msg to someone who isn't logged in and have it waiting for when it they do.

I think I can sort that for you. Just looked in my netLog from last night where I was winged up with CMDRs Luc and Kemo and it records the chat as you can see from the following entries.

I'm not sure it's recording all messages to/from 'local' but certainly something to test there and then the possibility to just have a little app go through your log files and pull out the chat related pieces.

I think everyone knows how bad the messaging system is, because they've all been through what you're experiencing.

I wouldn't worry about it. Anyone who takes your silence personally is probably either a newcomer or isn't the sort of person you want to be chatting with anyway.
