Applogies to the CMDR I shot down today

I was returning form the Dakshmandi combat zone when I got interdicted today. I didn't notice until then that there was a message in the chat asking why I shot him down. At that point, he was attacking me and I just tried to stay alive - I'm not so good at typing and flying.

I did not intentionally shoot down a player - I hate PVP, that's why I joined this group.

My only idea of what happened was that I had gotten rammed during the battle - knocked my shields out. Would the game mark the player that rammed me hostile? Cause those battle zones are pretty intense and I was only shooting red targets. It didn't occur to me that players could be marked red.

Bottom line - sorry, it was a mistake, but I was too confused by being attacked to be able to think of how to respond to you and stay alive.

I'm just going to stick to solo mode from now on - mistakes aren't such a big deal there.

p.s. - I like the saying "never assume malice when stupidity will suffice" - Dude you assumed malice which is obvious from the how much you were swearing at me. It wasn't intentional - Sorry.

I don't see a reason to move to solo but if that is your choice I can't stop you. The combat zones I admit are the one place I would expect PVP and as far as I'm aware all enemy targets are red so that would include PC's I thought. You learned something, and someone else got upset. And as it has been said before, the comms in the game are twitchy sometimes.

I'm sure he didn't ram me on purpose I'm sure. The combat zone was crazy crowded.

Something like that happened to me last night, but I think it was an NPC. I didn't even notice until I saw a red hollow triangle... then I noticed EVERYTHING was red, and I was targeting a Dakshmandi Focus ship. I retracted hardpoints and left.

Today, a bunch of us CMDRs were bumping into each other, but thankfully, we all had full shields, so no harm done. (Not really even damage to shields, let alone ships, or hostility.)

Mistakes happen. Personally, if you figure out who this guy was, I think dropping him a bunch of (non stolen) cargo or something as a token payment might be a good gesture. No need to banish yourself to solo though.

Send him a gift basket of bacon. Bacon cures many rifts.

Hello,
Had a similar problem with bumping into and accidentally shooting other commanders in the CZ in Dakshmandi. Luckily when the bumping incident happened the other commander and myself were actually in the same Wing, I apologized, but he hardly noticed. There was really bad rubber-banding going on at that time. The next time, I was firing on an NPC target when a commander crossed my line of fire. At least 1 shot landed on his shield, before I could stop myself. He didn't notice either. I called it quits and went over to solo to continue the CG. The combat zones seem pretty crowded, even if you manage to avoid shooting another commander, there are times when you can't seem to avoid kill stealing.

Have fun, fly safe.

I was in a CZ in Maausk yesterday and on CMDR was in the opposite faction so my turrets (set in Fire at Will) started shooting at him. I had to retract hardpoints till he changed faction so no harm done except a couple of SCBs till I bugged out from there :).

The general rule is to not ruin another players game experience. That being said I have in the past joined busy conflict zones and declared my intention to join side x when other commanders were on side y.

I had to shoot down a could other people whom attacked me, but my main thing is that I don't chase. NPC's in CZ usually don't run so if you see someone you are fighting head for the hills and charge their fsd you may want to let them go.

The indicators have been buggy lately with players randomly staying orange, all npc's turning red even though they are not hostile, and I even had a guy in my wing lose the CMDR in front of his name mid combat.
