Kaushpoos, lag...

Greetings Commanders!
Having been in Kaushpoos the majority of the day so far (Oct 31), I've been experiencing a boat-load of lag like issues.... and I'm not the only one!
I've been watching chat, and quite a few of us have been discussing the issues today... such as: NPC & Player ships floating through the station's walls, NPC's not taking damage... followed by rubberbanding, delayed supercruise (in and out of), and other misc. issues one might expect with latency.
I tweeted the issue to @Frontier_Help, and CMDR Falcon (FDev) responded, letting me know that no other players have been reporting such issues today... and asked me to ask if anyone having these issues would please submit a ticket to Frontier, and include your netlog.
if you don't know where the netlog is, it is usually found in %localappdata%\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC_FDEV_D_XXX\Logs (xxx will be different).
CMDR Falcon said that playing in a private groups should NOT cause any issues like this, but, just about everyone I've spoken with today have all been having these issues (more so around Neville Horizons station and in supercruise in the system). I'm not sure if this is only happening while in Kaushpoos, but I personally have not noticed any issues UNTIL I got to Kaushpoos and around a lot of other players. (even when in a RES by my self, issues still occur though).
So again, if you have noticed these issues in or around Kaushpoos, please let Frontier know so they can figure it out.... because it would seem it's not a problem in Open atm.
Thank you!

Just had a Courier that was idle and invulnerable. And other strange stuff.
Update than it went alive, started to scan me, I attacked and it went down as designed.
Update Enemies don't show always as reds or even blinking, even when firing
Shield Cells don't seem to recharge shields properly (?)
Update Enemies seem to show Red (no) shields sometimes before engaging
Update Wing info not always showing on enemies
Question Is there the station under construction to see?

I've also had some strange stuff......But I don't think it is latency linked......
Although the supercruise dancing glowing balls of other craft maybe......
Weirdest was a T9 just going backwards and forwards in a station in front of the slot.......Not landing...Not leaving.....

I saw a T9 doing the same thing, not sure if it was the same one though... which is possibly part of the issue, ships floating through walls and whatnot, that and the invulnerable ships as well as the dancing ships in supercruise... I included it all when tweeting FD. (I hate saying that..."tweeting"... makes me feel like I should be 10yrs old with pony tails..... but I digress...).

I was having fun though, haven't been around that many Mobius players at one time before!

Isn't this just a symptom of (at least) one member of the instance having a crappy internet connection?
It strikes me that there may have been some deliberate disruption planned in Mobius. Whenever I've been, the large pads are filled with 'condas doing nothing. Are they there to try to prevent the larger mining ships from landing, or are they just inconsiderate jerks?
With that cynical thought in mind, it wouldn't take much (a torrenting session, perhaps) to badly upset the P2P nature of instancing and give everyone problems. It only takes one bad connection for the instance as a whole to be upset. Even if it's not malicious, the nature of Mobius is that there are fewer ships to be instanced so we'll be bundled together regardless of our connection. In open, the matchmaking server has more choice and can collect together players with similar physical locations and minimise their relative ping.
I reckon it's deliberate, though. I've had it before - someone deliberately spams Alt F10 just when they see someone trying to get through the letterbox. Everyone gets lag. This wouldn't be an issue in open because Alt F10 only works in solo or group.

With so many commanders present there, the station’s instance has never a chance to reset and I wonder if that and the usual network issues wouldn’t be enough to cause the problems you guys mention. I’ve seen “frozen" NPC’s before in circumstances where there was no chance anyone would have been here to cause the issues intentionally. But this is just me speaking and it’s NOT the official position of the admins. We are definitely going to look into it.
We are also aware that some people are willing to cause disruption in the group, so if you notice suspicious behavior from CMDRs, please report it to the admins with enough details and preferably screenshots or videos (use
Administrators as recipient of your PM's). No offense, Gorf, but saying « Whenever I've been, the large pads are filled with 'condas doing nothing. » doesn’t help. What would really help is a PM with screenshots and the names of those commanders.
Again, guys and gals, feel free to PM the admins to report suspicious behavior, but please provide the information we need to investigate.

None taken, but a screenshot isn't really much help. All it shows is that the CMDRs were there, not that they were
sitting there.
A bit like the kill-stealing CMDR I met tonight. The only way to deal with it is to block the guy and hope the matchmaking server keeps us apart in future. The screen shot I got won't, in itself, prove anything.

It’s a matter of perspective, Gorf. One screenshot won’t prove anything, but if we also get other reports from other commanders and the names match, your screenshot is not so insignificant anymore.
