Main forum borked (wonder why....)

Can't even get on the forum. I haven't been on since the update and thought I'd go and have a look - but I guess there are far too many on, trying to see what's going on with beta 3.
I think a forum really sux big time if it is unable to support the amount of subscribers it has.

It's been on and off all day, it will probably go into Meltdown when everyone gets home from work, I'm just going to keep trying the Launcher to find the update, don't think we will get much joy from the official forum

According to Ed Lewis, it's on it's way but no timescales as of yet. Yes the Forum is temperamental at the moment, I keep getting the server being too busy message.

Well, I am not surprised:
There are currently 4322 users online. 1075 members and 3247 guests. Most users ever online was 4,349, Today at 5:43 PM.
Edit: Numbers are still rising:

If anyone of you has real news, just post them here on the forum, so we can access them for sure.

As I mentioned when I finally got in to the forum a few minutes ago - they should follow AVSIM's example and set it so that only logged-in members can view the forums when it gets overloaded.
Look at the number of registered viewers to the number of 'guests'.
Personally, I don't mind logging in just to read posts, if it means I can get in when I want to (i.e. when I have time).
Wasn't the Beta 2 update quite late in the day, too?

could this be why the forum is struggling?
There are currently 7122 users online. 1462 members and 5660 guests. Most users ever online was 7,122, Today at 7:36 PM.

Actually the official forums are holding up
very good! I have no trouble accessing them in spite of this:

On which planet?
Here (in the centre of the known universe, GMT) it's 20:50hrs. So 9:12pm must be in some other place...

They turned off the display of online users, it used up more space on the front page than the forums list.
