No.
1. This is a game about flying ships in space. Do you want less than what we have now?
2. There is no need. As it is now, we only get to control flight in Normal Space and SC. Do you want less than what we have now?
3. We soon will be able to fly around planets. Do you want less than what we have now?
4. Do you want less than what we have now?
5. Do you want less than what we have now?
So, those are my Five points, which can be summed up as: Do you want less than what we have now?
Seriously, why?

Pretty much agree with Loriath here, I do not want eve-online where traveling is done through a right-click, wait, right-click, wait, right-click, wait..
Heard there has been talk that maybe somewhere down the line we can have secondary nav points in certain systems.
These nav points can then be selected as a jump in point rather than the default one, but only after you have traveled to it first.
Inow you must jump to the normal nav beacon, travel to the secondary at least once in SC.
But I find it people who have issues with cruising a couple of 100k ls are the ones who get's suprised by the trip, if you for instance are looking at a mission, open the map, check the system and see how for the station\outpost is from arrival point.

please no, lets not turn it into a Eve clone. The feeling of distance and size of the galaxy is one of the best things about this game

Was just asking cause a friend of mine thinks that mini warp drives was in Star Citizen and said it was easier travelling fast for short distance journey. No idea what he meant so I didn't know what to answer him hence the question.

I think you should be able to jump to any star.
Honestly, I'm Elite explorer but I can't remember - I assume there are no NAV beacons beyond civilized space. So if you can jump to suns on those systems, why not any sun in any system?

The suns you are jumping in on are the centre of mass. So if there are 14 stars orbiting, you will land at the star that is at the central point of mass for that system.

I used to simulate something like this by popping up in a system in Open Play, dropping out of SC before I could get interdicted by the prick invariably waiting at the jump star, then swapping to Solo and travelling to the general area of the station before popping back into Open. Really pissed off the griefers. XD
I'd settle for just being able to lay my own course into the nav computer point-by-point.

Mini warp drives - no, SC is a game play element, and we don't need those taken away
Plotting your own routes - yes please
