Extraction Sites or Nav Beacons

So I've hung around Nav beacons killing anything wanted that came into my sights. Recently I went to a extraction sight and I was wondering which is more worth while?

Unless it is a Compromised Nav Beacon, then RES is the way to go. RES comes in four forms
1) Low - generally lower level ships in lower numbers
2) Normal - a mix of ships, can be a bit hit and miss what you get
3) High - sidewinders to anacondas, master and up, expect lots of dangerous, deadly and even elites
4) Hazardous - no police! - sidwinders to anacondas, generally dangerous and up.

Compromised Nav Beacons are a bit like Hazardous RES site (but without the asteroids)

RES are a great place to farm bounties, much much more than you'd ever get at a normal Nav Beacon

Dunno if it’s just me, but regular nav beacons seem to suck even more now that we have the compromised ones.

I'd agree that the Nav beacons seem to have very little reward.

OP: Head out to a RES.
I strongly suggest starting on a Low intensity, and progress up from there.
Start with the smaller ships and be sure to check if they are winged or not.

Nav beacons are only really good for faction missions or Powerplay.

RES are your best bet. I found Nav beacons to be absolutely useless due to the poor spawn rate.

Happy hunting

If new is to res, go to a high one and follow security wings. They help kill pirates and you still get the bounty (as long as you score a hit)

I only hit the nav beacons now under two circumstances:

*I am short of two full buybacks and want to get the cash in a safe, controlled area.

*I see a compromised one which is a greeat oppertunity for easy bounties with low risk.

The main thing to do for keeping alive in the higher-end RES sites is to ALWAYS check what the wingmen are when attacking grouped ships. When I've died in them its usually because I'm getting cocky and don't bother to do that first. It's a habit I'm trying to break myself of.

EDIT: Two other things to consider with RES sites:

*Don't use them when they are on the night-side--it's far too easy to crash and kill yourself and the lights on the ship are only powerful enough to give you a brief glimpse of what you are already going to hit if moving at anything faster than a slow crawl.

*Asteroid density varies a good deal and some are just too dense to risk. If you are constantly dodging rocks just moving through them they are not worth trying to fight in.

Attacking wings can be very risky, but attacking a ship that shows as individual and suddenly 2 or 3 others start shooting you is rather annoying. This bug happened to me last night and I had to flee with my conda at 85% hull. My wingman had a cobra, he bailed himself taking damage.
