Looking for a new home.

OK,

We all found this cute little place, LTT 15574. And as starting players, we thought it was the bomb, and made our camp there. As we have matured, we noticed even more of the cool things it had, but we also notice some of its' short-comings. So, for 4 kids, 5 friends, a wife and myself, we're kinda poking around for a new camp. 8-)

'Must Haves' :geek:

Good, plentiful docks. w/ (L) Docking
Descent Shipyard, with beginning to mid ships. :!:
Good Outfitting is a must, we have lazy players that want what they want, when they want it, without too much flying to and fro. (Wifely quote)
Excellent Mining, and Bounty Hunting
Excellent short-range missions for the kids :)
Good Trading close by. 8-)
I like to be close to Diaguandri (My name is Bob and I'm a ship-aholic) and Fehu ;)

So far, the 2 best candidates for a couple hours search are HIP 93377 and HIP 8865. With some leaning towards the first. But I was sure this august and learned body would have some intelligent suggestions.
Someone mentioned 'Azrael' to me, and besides being our base, what are its' features? (Inquiring minds and all that)

Thanks all,
Bob

Azrael and Exioce area has some neat bounty and minign places, HIP 21991 has several HAZ RES for mining(its nearby)
Also Azrael has Order of Mobius as leading faction, exioce has the order as one of the smaller factions. there is a system close to those two which can be used for outfitting, forgot the name tho >_>

Sure you got everything in the area of azrael.
But us fogyes consider a anything withing 150 Ly as "in the area".
Honestly the area is pretty shit.
The azrael station has palm trees and a great (fictional) bar That's it.

I would honestly rather suggest lhs 20. Don't know what the trading is like in the area but there is great bounty res there and I bought and outfitted my corvette there apart from A class thrusters so shipyard and outfitting is well above normal.

This is also Li Yong Rui space so both ships and modules are 15% discounted that makes a large difference whether you don't have a lot of credits yet or will spend a lot of credits.

I mentioned some of this in your other post about looking for a new home, but here goes on the basics.....

AFAIK, no one system has everything. I like to be 'close by' (3-4 hops for me) to whatever I want.

I am based in Gende. Fantastic shipyard and outfitting that is second to none. Haz, high, and low RES right outside the door of Baliunas Hub... if you don't mind taking the risk of getting a bounty in your home system. (been there, done that) RES nearby in Exioce, Dvorsi, and several other systems.

For A-B-A trade routes, plug LTT 9810 into the trade route websites. You can thank me later. :) (For large pads there are more profitable routes, but LTT will get you started)

Closest mining is in Jura. Pristine metallic rings.

Hope this helps.

You really brought up something on my mind too. The game says I have 328 million in assets, (The army must keep that money, cause I never saw a nickel of it. -Forest Gump) But by my figuring, if I sold my anaconda (AGGGHHH, No!), the viper, the vulture, the courier, and the clipper (Not the mining ship!) it would leave me enough to buy the Imperial Cutter. The question I've been pondering was if I wanted to trade them all in on a capital ship. Did your corvette turn out to be everything you dreamed? Or keep them, be able to dog-fight, and mine, and mission, and buy her another day?

You can always sell it back if you want to switch to something else, just make sure you have enough money for some good upgrades in the first place so you won't have to fly it stock. I've only got about 43M in assets and until I got my Clipper I'd swap between a Vulture and Type-7 which would cost about 25M each fully upgraded, I just thought of the 10% trade-in cost as a storage fee, not that it was very much once the ships were downgraded fully.

Yes and no.
You can most times be better off in the fas that cost 90 mil WITH mirrored armor and full A rating.
I'm just worth 1.8 billion at this point and might as well put my money somewhere ;)

And it does tank better than the Fas so you can engage wings with a little more impunity if you so choose.

If you are still looking, might I suggest Sak Manka?

Pros:
* Good shipyard and excellent outfitting.
* 40 ly from Epsilon Ceti and other LRY systems where you can get the good old 15% discount on all their stuff.
* 11ly from NLTT8653 which has a couple of RES sites and both an outpost (no security to pay off those pesky bounties/fines when they occour) as well as a decent Shipyard and outfitting
* Close to some real good shipping routes.
* In the thick of things of Imperial Space if you are like minded.

Cons
* In the thick of Imperial Space.
* Does not have a RES of its own.
* Shipyard does not have everything.

And I will add this little reminder. And this is Rule2 after Rule1 (Which is Don't Fly Without Insurance or can't afford to lose)...

Don't Poop Where you eat.

You don't want to be doing all your RES/Bounty Hunting in the same system that you are currently living in. Why? Because if you screw up, or just plain want to take out that ship for the Bucks/Thrills and you know its going to get you a big BullsEye on you, you will be locked out of your "House" unless you can sneak/break in. Hunt in other peoples yards, not yours. Not an issue if you don't have anything there, but if your entire "Fleet" is parked in a station with a lot of security ships and you can't get to it for a week cause you whack a cop, then you are S.O.L. (Shit outa Luck).

Hey :) As i pledge allegiance to Felicia Winters i put my home at her QG, in Rhea. This is a pretty good place for federation's friends imo, with a lot of system within 40ls which offer you the possibility to play any gamestyle, from mining to bounty hunting ;)

I do not know the galaxy so well, Rhea is my personnal reference :)
