What do people think of SCB's, a useful addition or a needless get out of jail free card? I'm unsure.

on ships with large shields, like FDL, anaconda(with many boosters) clipper, cutter, corvette etc. IF you are combatting something and your shields go low, you'll want to top up your shields so you wont die right away.

I know they're useful, but should they be in the game? They weren't in any of the previous three. I use them but sometimes it feels like they make combat too easy.

I've used them on all of my combat ships. I suck at combat, so SCB's help me stay in the fight.

well, maybe they are a new invention?
They take internal space, you have a limited amount, they only charge so much, and they heat up like mad.
In my opinion? yes they should. if you are against another commander you are already failing if you are the one having to use it, so use it and run or try to fight and fly
But i rarely use them, my python for combat uses biweave and hull reinforcements, as well as FAS and Vulture.

NPCs use them now which makes them difficult to defeat.
I've never used them, but it's getting to the point where I might have too just to even things up.

I'm on the fence about them, they allow you to take on fights where you wouldn't normally, for example against a wing, but in 1-on-1 fights I don't see the point, I don't have them on my Vette and I've never lost my shields, but then I choose my targets carefully and will only attack a wing if it's already engaged fighting something else.

Ah... there's the rub. I pick targets that I shouldn't (winged Conda with two FAS in a Haz-RES) and use SCB's when needed.
If the game allows the use of an item and I find it helpful, then I'm going to use it.

oh absolutely, that's why they are there after all

, the key is having the variety to be able to choose the style you enjoy

I don't use them and don't think i really need them.
I'd die if I fire them anyways. So none of those is probably safer for me.
