Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I've been around just over 3 months now, and I've done 30x more in 3 months, than I did in the 9 months prior playing the game ... 100% thanx to you guys!

Just wanted to thank you guys for your time, patience, instructions, help and everything else. Especially since I'm a bit verbose, very opinionated (I don't hide it, I know myself ... and my handle should suggest I do ) with a lot of off-topic additives (I try to use "Spoiler" tags, or even move to another thread), and other things. Thank you again for helping me enjoy the game 10x more than I had prior!

If any of you are ever in Orlando, let me know and I'll at least swing nearby your hotel and buy you your favorite beverage sometime. I'd offer more, but I live on the opposite side of the attractions (NE Orlando, not SW), so you wouldn't want to stay with me to save on hotel.

As I've said on many occasions, ElitePVE is the literal reason I own this game. I refused to buy the game, even though I wanted it, because from what Frontier showed, it was a bunch of PVP hungry Dbags, wasting an amazing engine with nothing else but pew pew.

So I certainly get the sentiment behind your post. ElitePVE is a great place to be.

As to your location.. I think Ben Kenobi said it best:

"Mos Eisley spaceportOrlando. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."


Again, as I've said many times, if I'd known about ElitePVE, I would have been an alpha backer with a lifetime expansion pass.. Frontier stopped me from buying the game. I bought the game because of this place, and it's paid off in spades.

PvE is really what I want, especially with my ping times and throughput (awesome in '99, still the same infra in '16).

I took a break for almost a month after 2.1-2.1.02. It'll happen again in the future. But the core game still rocks. I heard we're heading towards 2M players ... and over 1% of those are in the Order of Mobius!

Just as people say ... drivers in Orlando suck. Why? Because 3.5M people live here, but 70M visit every year. So 20 out of 21 people on Orlando roads are from everywhere else.

And I say this as I'm just about to pick my wife up from the airport. Kids and lots of screaming kids on that plane. But it's cheap to live with low taxes for that same reason.

BTW, if you're ever in Orlando, and see a bumper sticker that says 'Terrorist Hunting License," understand that used to read, 'Tourist Hunting License' before 9/11. We just changed the 'Tango' designation.

I'm from Asheville(or was), which while certainly not as packed as Orlando.. it's probably one of the top leafer spots in the world. Roads made for a few hundred thousand swell several times a years for the out-of-towners.
So yeah, I get that.

My break was roughly 6-7 months. I've only been back a few weeks, in game. I'll be gone again in August, likely until November. Elite, and ElitePVE, are one of those great things you can come and go from without being left out of the fun.

I'm in the Orlando area also, I live over by Champion's Gate near the Four Corners area, so totally opposite to where you live. I work at the Contemporary and work is usually about the closest I get to Orlando proper since I moved out to this part of Central Florida, and of course that's not very close. I do Lyft and Uber so I am in Orlando when I'm driving but I haven't got a lot of chance lately because we've had a lot of people on vacation and training on third shift at the hotel so I'm always working my main job. I used to live in Pine Hills and went into Orlando a lot more frequently.

I'm also in the Orlando area... for another 7 days been to see star trek at the AMC complex in Universal tonight. Yep one of those darn tourists is me.

We appreciate you guys paying those outrageous tourist taxes, so ours are low. As far as Tourist Hunting Permits, it won't be me ... I don't own.
