Ideas that probably will never make it in Game

The other day I had a dream, well more like day dream/imagination, where Elite had a few very large ships that were controllable by players (well I was controlling it). The downfalls to the ship was that it was very slow and very large so it made it easy to hit, the pro's to the ship was that it's FSD distance was amazing, it was mainly for massive amounts of cargo, or a battleship depending on how it was set up, but I was using it as a cargo ship. Anyways, it also had broadside cannons capabilities. This would be very expensive to set up, and very resource extensive on the ship, but it would be devastating to one or a few targets. There would be ways around it however, i.e. having more people to lessen the amount of damage each individual took, plus it had to lock on to targets so the item that prevents you from being targeted would make it harder for the turrets to hit (I forget what that was called sorry I'm still new to the game). Alone, these massive beasts could be taken down pretty easily, so they would have to have a group of smaller ships to travel with them. now, here's the cool part, they have a few bays on them so a few small ships able to dock on them for long distance FSD traveling.
Basically a mother ship idea.
Probably a bad idea, but it'd be awesome IMO.

Bad a similar thought.
But in my mind it's main ability was that it could carry other ships.
So large enough to carry one large pad, two medium pads and a few small ones.
This would obviously not be able to dock, maybe special space dry docks or low <1g world's.
On another note the one feature I have been wanting most lately. Is the ability to hot drop the buggy.
It shouldn't be hard to implement really.
Something simple like drop <50m and slow to 100ms and you can drop the srv. The ship then just pitches up and boosts up like it was dismissed.
If you happen to drop in a bad place well that's half the fun isn't it.
I know me and every single A team member could easily control this.
We have routinely jumped off cliffs of 1km high and reached speeds of 150ms+ and lived.
I guess it wouldn't change to much game play wise but it would be a fun way to approach bases or just quickly deploy on poi's.

Just this part alone could probably change combat in the game entirely, it could become a clan based game though which could also turn a lot of people away, or it could bring more people to it. be able to do "clan wars". that would be epic imo

Well, ship transfer and module storage coming in a few weeks puts any need for it to a rest really.

But, if it's the case that another player, that you allow, could land on your station and take off from it, that is what would be the game changer IMO. basically making it a player controlled movable station. Basically like a mother ship. that's basically what my idea was.

Hello,
These ideas sort of remind me of the Titan class ships in EvE. Might be fun in a wing/group scenario but would not find much takers who prefer to fly Solo (in Open/Group/Solo).
Then you have the problems with the P2P instancing. People have been reporting how screwed up wings are ATM (most vocally, the A-Team

). When Multi-crew hits, there is going to be a real shit storm.
For me. One of the things I would really like to see that I doubt would happen, would be storyline based missions. A storyline that is basically for a single CMDR instead of the whole universe. Multiple storylines with multiple branches tailored to a CMDR's rank in Combat/Trade/Exploration + alligence to Empire/Fed/Alliance + rep with local faction.
Have fun, fly safe. o7

I like that idea, having a mission that feeds one to another and developed a story. I doubt it would happen though, would need huge amounts of work and writers to come up with all the possible outcomes and branches. But I really wish it would!
I also have a dream of murder in game having real consequence. Not a monetary one but a real impact on how the game sees you and interacts. Being made hostile to the NPC faction or the controlling faction for a PC. Having the police constantly hunt them down while in any of their systems. Obviously anarchic systems wouldn't have the same affect but ones with medium to high security should have a higher consequence.
I would also love to be able to leave my ship on the planet surface and not have it take off once I am 2KM away. Leave it there so I have a homebase that I can explore from. Also allow me to remote pilot it if I am far away so I can get it to come over if I need it. With all the talk of telepresence in game this shouldn't be hard now

If people only knew what we have been doing behind the scenes with FD for months and not shouting about it......
Changing settings......Trying this....Trying that......
The amount of data we have sent FD you would not believe.....Gigs of the stuff....
Trying to get it sorted.......
And still no joy.........
Although we were told different........
And people wonder why we are pissed off......
Well I am anyway.....
Hence not playing at the moment.....
