Is the Anaconda still the best all around ship? (multi purpose) or has this now been replaced by another with the 2.2 update?

I'd say it is still the best large multi-purpose ship, 2.2 hasn't really changed anything in that respect. In fact with the exception of the Orca finally having a purpose, 2.2 hasn't really changed the role positions of any of the ships (IMHO).

I agree with Xebeth (as usual). The Conda is the best large multi-roll ship, and the Python is it's mid-size counterpart.

This. Python is a fantastic overall ship until you get into the big ones.

It depends on what role you want to play. But for versatility, the Python every time.

Python/Anaconda are probably the best all-rounders but it really depends on what you find most important.
I personally spent more time in the Python pre and post engineered. Once it's engineered, it's a dream to fly.

Anaconda (L), Python (M), then I would say Asp Explorer (M) and Cobra mk3 (S). That's my list of best all-round ships.

What we have is choices.
In the Large ships you have to balance a few things. Manoeuvrability, Speed, Range, Cargo, Combat Offence, Combat Defence.
All the big ships can do cargo quite well, with the Cutter as King there.
For Combat Offence, the Anaconda has the ability to put down more Raw DPS due to guns than even the Corvette but its close.
Manoeuvrability goes to the Vette.
Speed to the Cutter
Combat Defence, Shields king goes to Cutter
Range goes to the Conda.
Then you throw Engineer mods in and all of a sudden your choice gets complicated. Want a Cutter that can haul and have decent range? Engineer it. Need to up the DPS? Then the Corvette can Rule. But nothing will outjump the Conda even with a Full belly.
If you have the means to do all 3 ships, you are lucky that you have the choice. If not, if you had to have just one, you need to chose what is best for your needs and your play style.
It is sort of like the Automotive world. From the Dealer you can have Speed, Durability, or Cheap. Pick Two. But then you can take it to the tuners and tweak it.

He is right!
(I'm a Vette sort of Guy, but I love the Conda, Python and I appear to have five Asps)
