No wipe..anyone up for some market manipulation

I was thinking , now that we know there is no wipe.

there are over 1000 players in this group now, how about we get as many people together as possible and try to manipulate a particular system's market, or maybe a group of systems.

We could pick some commodities and patrol those systems 'removing' any Npc's carrying those commodities and see if the market runs dry, obviously we wouldnt be able to affect the open galaxy, but it should still make a difference.

Then flood it and make some money :)

would be interesting to see if we would make a difference.

It seems to be possible to buyout everything on market or trigger "market unbalance guard" pretty quick. Someone on official board already noticed after few trips that his station stopped offering Gold he was trading. I think this kind of coordinated behavior will just shift some prices in reasonable scale but will not affect market seriously (in terms of extremely low/high prices). :)

Well, it's interesting to test this. Are you near Sol or somewhere? I return home in a few hours and can login at around 19 UTC.

Is it possible to scan another ship's cargo whilst in SC?

if not, it would mean having to interdict and cargo scan many ships!

might be best to pick a system that has one station to start with and sit in SC where you can intercept a good number of incoming ships, are there any near Sol like that?

I would be totally up for something like this! Would be cool to see. Especially once the galaxy is more dynamic at launch. Or so they say.
