How many jumps one way?
Lave (Lavian Brandy) - Heike (Ceremonial Heike Tea) is 10 jumps with Lakon 6, 100 tonnes & Class A FSD.
~3.26 million Cr round trip profit - that Fuel Scoop really is handy.

I thought all career choices were supposed to be balanced? This doesn't seem very balanced at all, looks like you can make an awful lot of money fairly quickly.

So it seems. 20 jumps & two dockings + maybe some waiting for the stock to refresh at eithe end can net over 3 million Cr when trading rare commodities.
Now, with regular commodities and doing missions, you can get similar (or even higher) level of income with some luck, but there you need 20 jumps & 20 dockings to do that.
Exploring, Bounty-hunting & Piracy seem to be the underdogs, Mining maybe somewhere in between.

about a dozen each way i think, that's without using a route planner though, just pointing at your final destination and flicking through the nav panel to see what's in the right direction.
and yes, that fuel scoop is a lifesaver!

The rare goods quantities are being nerfed in the next patch. We will have to find routes that account for other cargo which will be complimented by a few tonnes of rare goods. A good way to deal with the situaiton as my chi eridani 420 cargo runs take 12 jumps (10-15 minutes) and yeild 6.7c million profit. Im excited to go back to real trading, even if it pays less. I still think there are some funky runs and strategies out there that no one has explored. I have a few in mind and have been experimenting with some. ^_^

The number of rares available for each player will be reduced in the next server update.
Michael
source for nerfIt was/is a bit too good, yep. I think I'm making around 150k on a round trip in my little part of the galaxy right now (5,98LY jump between systems and 200LS to one station and 400LS to the other).

Fuck me those are some serious profit figures! Those runs with so many jumps, are they safe?
If I'd have known that there was not going to be a wipe, I'd have played the Gamma more - probably did about 2 hours in total. I'd be halfway to my Python by now.
