Building on my Bobblehead my new gift has arrived.

It now houses the guts from my Karotz. I can stream music or sound files to it, change the colour of the pulsing glow and I plan to have it react to different events in the journal file by changing colours and playing TTS or mp3 files etc.

The stats relating to the print will follow as will the designs. If you want to give this a go then be prepared - over 200 hours of print time, although I would expect the 50 hours of CAD time needed for this version wouldn't be needed for a second attempt.

BTW, if you decide to get one of these be prepared for the reaction. Comments from my wife have included "what a waste of plastic" and "can we use it as a bin".

Why are you not uising that as a Gaming PC Case? That was my very first thought when I saw it.

I might, over time. For now because there's no internal structure to support the boards, limited cooling, nowhere for DVD drive etc.

Nothing that couldn't be worked out. It would be cool wouldn't it? 8-)

You would have to have some odd-special needs to bother with a disc drive these days.
But using the mailslot for something like that would be rather cool, especially with a slot in style player.

I still have one but that's because I like to rip some of my movies to an external drive I plug into my blueray player.

I haven't checked the dimensions yet but if I where to I would find a small mini-atx case to strip down and just insert into it.

Cooling as you say, might be a bigger issue if you haven't built in vents etc.
All in all I suspect since you didn't design it to be a computer to begin, to many compromises would have to be made to make it into one,
so might s well redesign a new one if you wanted to go down that road.

Seriously cool regardless though.

To be clear I was the lucky recipient of this not the maker. Yes, lucky indeed.

I've just created a couple of Applets for IFTTT so that I can control the colour of the lights through Alexa. My test URL commands have (according to the return codes) worked but I can't see that because I'm at my desk 17 miles away. I wonder if my wife might be using words that rhyme with 'luck' at me by the time I get home?

Time to control the sound output next....

Careful, or the word might be "that new thingie of yours was haunted, I have bashed it into a thousand pieces and burned the remains".
