The Federation is a Dangerous Place

I started in the Federation and then made my way to Alliance space, and have spent most of my there since. After trading for a while, I went exploring and now I find myself back in the Federation. I can hardly enter or leave a space station these days without some pour sold getting blown to bits, either by the station or SA vessels. The stations always have hulks bouncing around inside. That seems to be a rare thing in the Alliance, but I do remember it happening in the past - probably in Federation space when I started.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the distribution of players. I know a lot of people made a beeline for Sol as soon as they could, and perhaps the majority of them hung around in Fed controlled space. That would probably only make sense if there was code that affected NPCs as well.

The Federation takes its laws seriously and ignorance is no excuse...
Better pack an account full of credits too while you're at it, you're going to need them

The AI also seems a bit off, I've seen NPCs just start shooting at an outpost for no obvious reason, only to be blown to bits. It's a bit like the NPC pirates in a sidewinder with no shields who think they can attack you

I live in federation Space and yes, ships are always being shot to bits, but if you behave yourself (or know the way around the dangers) it's not a problem place to hang out in.

I did 7-8 trade runs today and don't recall a single guy getting blown to bits. I wonder if they toned it down in 1.04?
Btw, I've never personally been attacked by a station - I was just commenting on the difference between Alliance and Federation space (in my very limited experience).

I trade mostly in Fed Space and have never had a problem.
Pay off fines and bounties in Outposts,
Don't shoot the Police,
Don't haul illegal goods into starports (or sneak them in)
General rules, but it's safe enough.
