1) Buying from a station increases influence of controlling faction
2) Selling at a station decreases influence of controlling faction
3) Selling at a black market decreases influence of controlling faction (at a higher rate than (2))

If you want to tank the controlling faction's influence in the system then the trick is to only sell there, and not buy.

Whilst that was certainly true as of 1.3, experiments by groups such as The Mercs of Mikunn and others have shown this may not to be the case, some groups have indicated a station being in profit raises influence, whilst loss decreases it, the situation is unclear.

So for simplicity sake it was easier to say avoid trading at the moment.

However, if you have evidence that supports that selling goods lowers influence then I'll update the orders :)

Edit: there is some nascent evidence to suggest that selling lots of good that the station doesn't want (especially stuff not on the commodities market) hurts the controlling faction.

There will be a dip on the amount of traders actually arriving as I'm shooting every T-n I come across (Allied PLC in particular).

Yes, but also just stuff that's not normally on the commodities market and only shows up if you have it.

Last night I've been actively persuing Allied PLC ships, in particular their Internal Security Service, but any civilian A-PLC ship is a target. Obviously I can't let a wanted ship worth 100,000+ cr. just fly away, so those are targetted as well to "pay" for my services. I noticed quite a few powerplay faction NPC-ships from Li Yong-Rui and Archon Delaine flying about.

The ISS are woefully under equipped, I wonder where their ships in the CZ came from, as these Vipers and Eagles (and the pilots flying them) certainly weren't in their police force. They are a total push-over and don't put up much of a fight. Even a wing of 3 'police' Eagles didn't last very long against my FdL (and no I'm not a fantastic combat pilot...)

I have to agree: the security forces are rather a disappointment. They lack the right spirit - but to some degreed I can understand them: their announced reenforcements never arrive. They are always on their own. Working for such an employer I guess I would try to run from a fight too ;)

I saw that line, 're-inforcements are requested' and thought: "great, now I don't have to interdict them". They never showed up.

They never come :(
Even when they claim *Reenforcements have arrived". I waited for some time but nada. In the end I went into USS to avoid that interdicting.

Kills the realism I agree. It's also why griefers can kill newbies with near impunity in open play.
