Ship integrity

Postby JustSomeGuy » Thu Nov 19, 2015 6:59 am

Ship integrity, is it just the ship rusting as time passes and leads up to destruction at 0%?
Can this be repaired with auto field-maintenance unit?
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

Ship integrity is wear and tear. Space is not empty. It has fine dust and small particles. Your ships grind against that in space. It wears it out. Your paint is one thing that is visibly shown as worn as you get more wear and tear. If I remember correctly, if your integrity is 0% that means your hull is at 60%?? I think its 60.

AFMU's cannot currently repair hull or canopy.

As Loriath said, integrity reaching 0% does not mean instant destruction, it just means you are more vulnerable to damage. Explorers hit 0% all the time on long runs. AFMU's only repair modules, they won't affect integrity.

That's good to know, thanks.
I had exploring in mind, wondered if I need to keep an eye on integrity and turn back before it hits 50%.
But now I just realized that I don't think I can even see that integrity status in space, at least not until hull goes down to 60% and I know my paintwork, which apparently is 40% of my hull armor (some thick paint that is), is gone. :D

Only place you can ever check ship integrity is by docking in a station and opening the repair menu.

The total loss from 0% ship integrity isn't hull points, but a 30% (Not 40%) decrease in hull point resistance, you don't actually loose hull points (unless you take damage) they will just take damage 30% faster at 0, and if you don't fly shield less through asteroid fields that's not really going to be a problem.
