My ship seen hovering above a moon, when it should have been in a hangar

I landed at a surface base on Europa and placed my ship in the hangar. I then deployed my SRV for a look about.

After a while another Mobius player SRV drove up to me and we flashed our lights at each other and had a chat.

He then mentioned that he had taken some screenshots of my ship which, he showed me, was hovering with its landing gear out, about 2km above the surface of the moon. But it should have been in the hangar. When I returned to the hangar my ship was there.

Is this a bug I wonder? Or is it simply how the game deals with ships being put into hangars?

I've seen screenshots of player's ships parked in exactly the wrong place in stations (when to the player they were docked correctly), so I imagine it is part of the same bug (probably server instancing issues).

Just a thought, though, how much did you tip the valet for parking?

I hope this doesn't mean somebody can shoot it down. when I am not on-board, due to it's showing in the wrong location.

It is indeed either server instancing issues or lag, you'll often see player ships apparently in the wrong place in stations as well.

If you are playing in Mobius no one will shot you, actually I'm not even sure they could as you ship isn't actually where they see it.

Yup, server instancing issues, seems to sometimes even happen to stations these days. Haven't seen that myself yet just heard rumors.

In highly populated instances things like that can get really weird, I have had ships docking hangar on occasion and I once fell through a station and started rotating around space with it, that was a weird one .

Don't worry about it these bugs are just hollow shells and can't be interacted with, if flew up to one you wouldn't even be able to collide with it.
