I was in a bad mood tonight......

Went to a nav beacon to cause a bit of carnage.....

Found chem pro's and Dist's......

Can't tell you the ships.....I was not paying attention.......

I was just blatting anything that was wanted.....

I have found chemical whatevers out of all kinds of ships, even the FDL i killed earlier today had a few distilleries and last I checked the fer-de-lance wasn't considered a hauling vessel.

it really doesn't matter the ships, I spent two weeks straight doing nothing but murderizing ships (I might add, I am not that fond of combat, this all seemed stupid and felt a waste of time) and only got enough to get a single FSD mod... that turned out worse than the old one. So yeah, that was "my" experience with them. Maybe not everyone's, but I am not known to be a lucky person. Also I lied, it was chemical distilleries, not chemical processors... I have over 80 chemical processors now, those are easy enough.

However, kudos to the A-Team or more especially Loriath because he hit the nail on the head: If you want to avoid burn-out, stop focussing on the RNGineers. Have fun in the game by whatever floats your boat, and if you come across RNGineer stuff, treat it as a bonus.

Exactly what I am doing now. To me the Engineers do not really exist, much like PowerPlay. Both are to much of a time sink for very little reward.

What does RNGineers mean?

It means people have contempt for Sandro Sammarco for being a crappy lead game designer. I don't care if he's just doing what others have done in "mmo" games - he should be trying to find new and better ways and not be so lazy. Most of all, he should make sure something works before releasing it. I'm old enough to remember when games were released on floppy disks and they worked out of the box!

That being said, I'm not much of gamer, and I've probably spent more time playing this game than all others combined.
It's time to give this another go.

Yeah that's pretty much the crux of the matter.

This is not an mmo. At best it is a single player game with randomly connected coop.
And this idjit think it is an mmo and somehow manages to get features that this game just never was meant to support, rather than actually focusing on what it needs.

Well as a dedicated Fuel Rat, I also can just say that RNG is a nuisance in connection with engineers. Either available materials plus RNG, or time-sink materials plus a certain outcome ... yet to have both drawbacks makes it hard to be worth it.

Why? If I am Fuel Ratting, I cannot focus on searching planets or USS for materials. Anytime an emergency call might come in, leading to me breaking off the search, heading to the client. All over again. Plus a Fuel Rat with materials attracting NPCs is a BAD idea.

So indeed, I dislike the RNGneers mechanics very much. It distracts me from what I want to do in-game. Yet I don't want to be the Dedicated Fuel Rat With a Limp as well ...
While others with huge payloads of time or less dedication on their hands might not have such an issue, I do.
