Just to add, there doesnt appear to be any trading, other than missions, unless im looking in the wrong place?


Has anyone found anything interesting using the stock planet scanner?

I haven't found any decent trade markets either. But missions pay good credits.

Are you at one of the outposts, rather than a main station? It threw me at first until I realised there isn't a Commodities Market at the outposts.

So finally had the time to play a little bit of Beta 2.03 (didn't even get to play any of the previous Beta 2 releases :shock: ). Someone needs to fling a bucket of cold water over me. Starting at the outpost is a great experience, there is something amazing about being docked in open space. The whole thing is really starting to feel like a game and a massive game at that. The downsides are that the graphics feel too bright at the moment, the new HUD needs to be toned down a bit and exploration needs to be fleshed out. I think those are things the Dev's are already aware of. One real worry is that there are still delays and juddering in hyperspace / supercruise.

The positives, the graphics continue to amaze, the new missions add so much and you now actually have some choices about your career path. Overall Frontier are really starting to pull together a great game.

And then there's the music. Beautiful to my ears. There is a real touch of Bladerunner to some of the ambient tracks and that "feels" right to me. I thought the music might interfere with the game, how wrong I was, it enhances it without a doubt.

Very happy at present. :D

There's a dashboard brightness slider in the graphics menu. I turned mine way down. It helped a lot.

Ahhh thanks. In my rush to play last night I just barrelled straight in like a bull in a china shop! I'll have a look at that tonight.

The latest Beta has fixed all my crashing and locking problems :)

I am thinking a little too bright inside stations now, other than that I love the new look.

I had a freeze (needed a hard power down of machine) in the bulletin board and a ctd last night, but that was it in a couple of hours of play. Much better than the previous b2 builds.

The toned down UI effects are much better. So much so that I didn't need to turn off the GUI Effetcs option. Although, that may be for the 'flashing' between the screens. Some stations looked great inside but some still looked washed out. Mine just looks like the contrast is way too high and the gamma adjustment doesn't, obviously, have an effect on this.

All in all...loving it!
