Emergency Help!

I was playing with my video capture software and wanted to do a quick check of it in Elite. I fired up Elite, made my ship return to surface, and return to hanger so I could capture it and logged off.
Thats when I noticed my Joystick was unplugged.
Did I just hose my Keybindings?
Will it reset to default when I plug the stick back in and launch it?
Do I have to pull my backup bindings file and put it back in place?
I always plug it back into the same port (I have a short Extension so i don't screw that up).
If your wondering, I unplug when I am not using it, as I don't want the MFD on the X52 Pro Throttle to be on all the time and die out on me.

Don't know if you'll loose it, but it may be worth seeing if your key bindings file has changed before you plug it back in, if it still has all your current binding make a copy, then if it does change when you plug it in you can just copy it over.

It's as well to follow Xebeth's advice - and do it on a regular basis - but you'll probably be OK. If the software doesn't find the device it expects, it drops back to the default configuration. I've even plugged in my joystick after the game is fully started and the correct bindings were then used.
The bindings file is found in your User folder plus:
\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings\Custom.binds

I have
Splitfish FragFX FragChuck, what I use my "Hotas" with MadCatz M.M.O 7 mouse. If the receiver of the FragChuk is removed, when I start Elite, the key bingings change to something between custom and classic keyboard. When I put the receiver back on usb-port and power on Chuck, everything is fine. No need to adjust bindings.
I realise this at first time when just got launched off the coriolis station..

Thanks for all the replies. I have a backup, and I don't think I need it as I ran diff against the files and they are identical.
Now to make my way back from Lave with Brandy
