Galaxy Map Search

I've noticed that the Galaxy Map search function is not as useful as it was before 1.3. Actually, I am not sure if this change was part of 1.3 or a later patch, but it's been fairly recent.

After I return from exploring, I will sometimes like to look on the Galaxy Map to see my "discovered by" tag, and sometimes I even go back to resume exploring where I left off. To do that I just write down the last system I visited before I returned home, then type that system into the search box.

However, I can no longer do that for any systems with "complicated" names. For example, with Piscium Sector FB-X BI-5, the search box will return no results even if I am looking almost directly at the system in the map. However, if I type only 'Piscium Sector' into the search box, the map will select what appears to be the nearest system in that sector.

Has anyone else noticed this? I don't remember reading about it in the patch notes, so hope it was not an intentional change by FD.

Its an issue that I have seen in the bug forum. They are aware and looking at it.

I've had that issue too, but notice that if I put "Piscium Sector" and cycle through them it will eventually find your target.. but it is a pain

Thanks, I made a half-hearted attempt to search for this topic on the official forum. I don't really like to spend a lot of time over there anymore. :(

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't really tried to cycle through. Then again, there tend to be way too many stars with similar names, so I don't expect to have the attention span to do that for very long.

Ah, glad this is a known bug, I thought I noticed this too but assumed I'd just written the system down wrong when I discovered it!
