Insurance claims - do they count against you?

Have made 6 claims on insurance now since I started playing about a month ago, mostly getting shot up and one case of really bad parking.

Still in an Adder so the buy back is negligible (about 6,600 cr). Do they count against you in any way or is it just a smarter way of saying "game over, reload last save"?

A related question; do failed or aborted BB missions count against you also? Have about 4-5 of these.

I don't think that the insurance claims make any difference. Failed missions do have an impact on your reputation with the faction that gave them to you. Best to just abort those and try again.
