Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Hey all

Seeing as rear admiral has become a requisite for some federal ships, I'm contemplating how to best "grind" that rank.

Any and all advice gratefully received.

Fly safe commanders.

There is at least one power with emp and fed that gives bonus to reputation gain so it could be worth exploring.

Globus, if you don't care about doing charity missions you can quickly reach Rear Admiral in an afternoon (depending on your current rank of course.)

I have posted about this many times (there are also multiple topics open about ranking up) but I will repeat it again if it will help you.

17 Draconis. This system has a Federation station and is somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-500 LY away from inhabited space. It is currently in famine status and offers a metric shit ton of charity missions. This is literally your best bet to reach rear admiral. I went from Post Commander to Rear Admiral in a short time.

I'm hoping you didn't miss your chance, I am sure FDev are going to fix this.

I'm Ensign at the moment. Been trading/exploring mostly. Heading for Felicia Winters HQ now, to see if the Fed missions are good there. Decided not to PP though. I read up on it (again) and was reminded what a literal grind this was, and decided not to go down that route again.

Well I can confirm the 17 Draconis thing certainly works (thanks Rodgeirr for the great tip), went from Lt Commander @40% to Post Commander @15% in 30 mins. Only problem I had was the rank missions which were all get some stolen stuff from an unoccupied area of space that refused to spawn any USS or ships or anything, so I buggered off to a more populated area for my rank-up mission.

Was worried if rep carried over to the next rank, pleased to say that it does, also swapping modes refreshes the BB. So if you are so inclined you could spend a few hours there, spend a couple of million and bank a shed load of rep.

Really only wanted to get to Post Commander, so it was a couple of hours (including travelling) well spent and I made my expenses back in exploration data.

Don't have anywhere near the money to buy a Vette (really must stop buying ships), so in no great hurry to get to Rear Admiral.
