Of assassinations and permits

Postby JustSomeGuy » Wed Jan 06, 2016 3:23 pm

-- Assassination missions, how can I see which ones are "legal"? Meaning that the target is wanted and not clean.
Also how to tell if one is a series of missions or a single kill? Last time I took an assassination the target was clean and I thought screw that, I'll kill him anyway because the reward was good. I planned to do sidewinder-suicide afterwards to clean my own wanted status. But when I got back to the station I got no money but 'kill 4 authorities' mission offer. No thanks to that, so I ended up losing money.

I think there were other mission types as well from which I cannot tell if they are legal or not. Some are easy to spot, like killing authorities, get stolen stuff from somewhere and so on.

-- About system permits, whats the point? Sol permit for example, from ed wiki I found out that I could buy an eagle with some discount. But once you hit petty officer rank that awards you the Sol permit, you can afford that eagle anyway. Or 20 if you wish. Do those systems offer something else that counts as a reason to put them behind permit wall?

Check to see who you are being asked to assassinate. If you are killing a pirate lord, then you can bet he's wanted, if it is a local celebrity, a general or the mission giver's mother-in-law, chances are you are being asked to kill a clean target.

The point of system permits are they permit you to go into that system. Why you would want to do that is a different question. There are maybe a small handful of system where this might offer something like a rare good or a ship discount, but for the most part there's nothing amazing there. The reason there's a wall there is more of a lore thing than a game thing.

These asssassination missions are always wanted, Pirate Lords & Terrorists usually Conda's/Corvettes or a Python:

Card Collecter
Most Wanted
From the Ashes of Ruin
Voice of Despair

Also missions where the target is a deserter (eagle) or and escaped prisoner (viper).

Well I took a deserter mission, found the target and he was wanted, followed him until he dropped from cruise near a station and opened fire.
And got bounty for that.. He was wanted when I checked in cruise but not in normal space.
I just better not do these missions at all it seems, not my thing to be wanted.

Edit: Found him and his friends later in an USS, he was wanted again so I got my mission done.
