Exploring

Finally got an Asp and enough CR to build a decent explorer apart from the 6A fuel scoop which I can't see a point in, anyways...

Been seeing people talking about plotting routes via scoopable star systems, struggling to see how? my route plotter in galaxy map only let's me select destination, the nav panel let's me filter what's in jumping range and scoopable but that system isn't in my jump list plotted for me - so is it a constant back and forth between screens Or am I missing something in the galaxy map

:) thanks in advance :)

Whenever I plot a route I quickly check what kind of star the system has where the full line becomes a dotted one. If it's KGB FOAM I just top up there, if not, I start looking for one in the immediate area when fuel becomes an issue.

Remeber you can jump 32LY+ in one go with an asp, so there is bound to be something scoopable in that radius, even if you're running low on fuel.

Edit: and enjoy your travels, of course :) Fly safe o7

I also check where the solid line ends, and make a note of the last scoopable star. But when exploring I am generally full before the scan of the main star completes (that's the advantage of better scoops, but I don't think I've gone any higher than a 6B) and only really check for a sequence of non-scoopables. In any case it's worth knowing what you'll be jumping into next in case of the surprise white dwarf.

Since horizons you can also play with the cargo slider if you have racks installed and your plotted route updates automatically.

Quite handy and not so massive as hitting economic plotting. And it might switch you into a lane with more scoopable stars.
