Internal Slots

Hello,
I was wondering if placing certain components in certain internal slots really made a difference.
For example, if you put your SRV hangar in different internal slots in your Conda, then would the SRV launch from different locations on your ship?
I ask this, cause I was contemplating the recent discussions on the main forum regarding "legs", i.e. the ability to walk about your ship. I imagine that of this were to be implemented then internal slot locations would have to be in fixed places on your ship. What goes into those slots may vary but their on board locations should be the same.
Which brings me the the root question.
Did FD design the internals of the ship together with the externals? Or did they just design the cockpit and the outer hull?
Have fun, fly safe. o7

Currently the slot you use for the hanger makes no difference to where the srv deploys from. As to walking round the ship I had always assumed you be able to visit the galley, sleeping quarters, the 'head' but not to play with cargo hold contents or other modules. Passenger accommodation though.....

I would be very surprised if Fd even has basic sketches for ship layouts outside of what we see in game now. So walking in ships would be a massive undertaking for them. Not to mention they need an fps mode.

Yep. That's what I thought. FD doesn't really have an interior design for the ships. They know where the other fixed internal modules go, for combat damage purposes. But the cargo hold is something like a magical place.
Walking to the bunk, galley and "head", would serve RP purposes but after awhile most players would get bored. Walking to your SRV hangar or fighter bay would actually be purposeful.
This "legs" thing as Tor said would really be a massive undertaking and might end up changing the core game and not just another wrapper around the core game like the Seasons and updates have been so far.

they do seem to have large chunks of interior finished in certain ships such as the type 9 and python, not so sure about many others, though. as for the location of things, I have to think that when completed, the ability to walk around will feature the modules you choose filling slots that are "reserved for modules" We will likely see restrictions similar to the orca, where some things simply can't be put in some slots.
