Exiting Supercruise unexpectedly

Here's the scenario. Me and a wingmate are in a wing...he's lead I'm his wingman. I'm nav-locked to him. Wing beacons are on.
We try to enter supercruise (SC) from any station in any system it seems (we've verified more than a few) and it always happens: He engages FSD, I'm within 5km....my FSD charges up automatically following him...a few seconds later I drop out. Not interdicted....just drop out with FSD cooldown. Once FSD cools down I can immediately follow him into SC.
Anyone else ever experience this issue?
If it matters we are in group play so far...nothing in Open yet (we haven't played Open yet).
TIA.

Nav lock doesn't work right to get into SC. Out of, yes, in a Jump, yes, but not entering SC for whatever reason. I think its a bug, but not sure and too lazy to search it

Thanks. You're the first person who has actually hinted that it might actually be a bug. I've had lots of folks actually tell me stuff like, "Are you sure you're not interdicted?" "Are you sure you're not mass locked?" "Maybe it's the leader's wake from when you entered the station (do wakes last 3 normal/real life days?)". Game Devs haven't even responded to my bug report over at Frontier.....that's all I wanted...to know if my SOP was wrong or if it was a bug.
Ok. So I'll change my SOP to not nav-lock him until we enter SC so it will pull me out accordingly (if we do get interdicted or we get to our destination, etc).

We Fuel Rats continuously fight (or at least fought before 2.1, no idea how it is now) a similar problem yet "reverse": When we drop to the Nav beacon of a client, in many cases (regularly) there is only the Low Wake yet no ship; the FSD spools up immediately again, then immediately the ship drops again to the beacon, same result, the FSD spools up ...
If we do not disengage Nav Lock, the game seems to continue forever. Solution is getting the client into SC, or even restart the whole game. And it is a PAIN on X-Box. Boy was I spread thin after dispatching a couple of such X-Rats ...
This is a classical case of instancing, so your problem might be a different cup of tea, come to think of it. Yet reminds me of it.

I sure wish I knew you guys existed the other night. I'm a newb...and I was in a group play the other night...and made a jump that I thought I could make (stupid, I know)....and got into a system with no stations...only stars...and I had no fuel scoop (stupid again, I know)....so I had to basically burn up my ship to self-destruct (had no clue there was a self destruct...yeah yeah I'm a total idiot...go ahead and laugh...I did)....Sadly...I did this 2 times...then I determined....that I shouldn't hit my head against the wall and learned to equip for a long trip...fuel scoop...
How does transferring fuel work? You drop off cargo canisters and the other ship picks them up and it auto-magically goes in the fuel of the receiving ship?

No, one ship needs to have fuel transfer limpets (which are treated as cargo) and a fuel transfer limpet controller (which is an internal module), and then basically shoots the limpets at the ship that should receive fuel. The receiving ship does not need any special equipment. As far as I know, you cannot refuel yourself using this method.
There is a "how to get rescued" video on fuelrats.com, and episode one of "Educating Ed" on YouTube is all about the fuel rats.

Just log on to our #FuelRats IRC channel through the interface provided at the fuelrats.com website, call for help by raising the Ratsignal and let Dispatch send a couple of Rats to your place. All you have to care for is following Dispatch's instructions, drop your shields and sit tight. Then we might most probably (>95%) rescue you within a quarter of an hour (if you are somewhere in the bubble, otherwise it might take a bit longer to reach you). No guarantee for paintjob scratches though.
That's about it.
But that's OT here, head over to the Mobius Fuel Rats thread for more.
