Firing SCBs and Heat Sinks question?

So after the embarrassment of not knowing how to use the X-55 s/w properly I now have it sending the right key presses.

The issue I have is that I fire of the SCB put the heat sink doesn't fire afterwards, if I turn off the SCB and press the button the heat sink seems inconsistent in it's firing.

Am I doing something wrong?

How do people usually get the two to fire together or at least in rapid succession?

Use to use two chaffs (can do the same for HS) one on a key the other secondary assigned to a Joystick button. Some players fire a Heat Sink then wait for cool down then fire SCB. Others including myself stop firing and or put the guns in, temp drops fire SCB may heat up a little but is what others do.

How do people usually get the two to fire together or at least in rapid succession?

I defined an in-game fire group, heat sink on primary, SCB on secondary. Switch to the group, hit both triggers, switch back. Not that great, but good enough for my stint in the Exioce CZ.

I have it set up on my CH pro throttle so they are on the same hat. Left for SCB, up for HS. I normally do them one immediately after the other and have no issues.

I think ED has a time delay requirement between inputs, but it's really short (less than .1 sec?). Just make sure there's a 0.1 sec delay between the two and you should be fine. I use pip control via voice attack, and the 0.1 sec delay is fine there too.

I don't use fire groups for them. On my X-52 Pro, heat sink is on T3 and SCB is on T1 through in-game key bindings. I only use a HS if I am engaged in combat at the time, and can't allow the ship to cool down before and after using the SCB. If I use a HS I fire it first, then the SCB a second or so later.

Well the other post was a somewhat different subject (programming the X-55), or more truthfully about my own personal stupidity, this is specifically about how people use SCBs and HSs together

Right fixed (just needed to jiggle about with the timing (thanks Abil for he timing tip).

I can now fire off a HS rapidly followed by a SCB with a single button. I won't need it much but useful mid combat.
