Paying Fines

Postby Hossyman » Mon Jun 27, 2016 2:35 pm

I am new to EDH, so this statement / question may be stupid. I have fines for locations, or factions, etc that I cannot locate. I know how to use the search in the Galaxy map, as I have done it for a good while. However, there are those that show up, and there seems to be no way to find the location or faction and pay them off. As an example, I got this one this morning ( 1,285 CR Fine In The 9th Legion ). I even retraced my steps, checked all the contacts, and nothing, but it still shows up as a fine. It seems to me that if you have a fine show up, you should be able to click on it in contacts and have the system etc show up. Am I missing something ? How can I find the ones that show up with no info on how to find the place to pay the fine?
Thanks
JT

In theory, you should be able to find the faction by looking at the info board of the system map for every system you visited, and if you have a match at the system level, you need to check each station, space outpost, and planetary outpost to see if the faction is present in that particular place.

In practice, launch EDDB, INARA, or another crowd-sourced tool and hope that the faction is registered there. For "The 9th Legion", the search function of EDDB returns this: https://eddb.io/system/13139

No warranties because this relies on manual volunteer effort.

I have always wondered why we can't do this for both fines and bounties. It seems like such an obvious UI update.

Very much this.
And a "plot course option" in the coms panel friend/wing lists.
I also think we should have access to our bookmarks directly in the targeting/navigation panel without having to go into the galaxy map..

Not strictly needed, but would sure be nice.

Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

OR, like the bookmark system, fines should display above systems in the galaxy map as an icon. This should be fairly easy to accomplish in terms of coding.
