Does Smuggling Require Unique Cargo? (2.3)

When I used to do smuggling pre-Horizons, I'd sell the cargo on the black market, fly back to the bubble, and buy & deliver the goods locally. This really minimized any trouble from being interdicted and pirated or scanned by the cops. But now doing regular missions they sometime require unique cargo - just wondering if that applies to smuggling?

From the smuggling missions I have seen it does generally state cargo is unique to this mission. Whether you can still buy the required cargo to replace the sold/lost stuff and have it count towards the mission still I don't know. Try and see if guess.

I believe they made the cargo unique specifically to stop the very activity you refer to.

Yup, exactly that. ^^^

When you look at the mission details, it will typically say something like "missions specific cargo". And when it's in your cargo hold, it's identified as 'haulage' as well.

Lol, it figures.

I really didn't think that was an exploit - one ton of combat stabilizers is the same as any other. I'd rather it be some custom cargo that you can't buy anywhere else - not regular stuff just marked "unique".

But if your client had sent you off with 3t of Armarni suits and you turned up with 3t of Dior frocks . . .
