Look on the forums for Artie's Companion Tool and ask him to set you up with a password for access. I can't link to it, I'm using Tapatalk on my mobile in bed. Its a very good trading tool.
Or you could just do haulage runs like I do. They get better as you do more, however it might mean that you stay in one or two systems for a while. Then do the missions where they ask you to find commodities and bring them back. Then its a case of checking the galactic map for the relevant commodity's and going off to buy them. Bring them back to complete the mission and the creds roll in - and your rep with the faction will go up too.
It'll take a while but its worth it as it'll make life easier.
