A question to our Beta testers:
1. Did they un-mute (make louder again) the Auto dock music?
2. Can we now buy a ship and FIRST buy cargo hold THEN transfer cargo from the old to the new? That was a really stupid restriction ...

I am not sure about the music when docking, but there was discussion regarding sound volumes overall in the Beta and the fact that since 2.0 sound volumes are overall lower. It has been noted and there will be a boost to overall volumes in the next beta (or the one after that).
Have no idea about the cargo situation.

I think it was a no when I tried this by accident a few days ago. You still can't get a new ship and store your current one IF you had more cargo than will fit in the default config of the new ship. At least I think that's what you are asking.

Yeah you need to sell or transfer cargo before you can store a ship. Think I read that frontier didn't what people being able to store commodities.

The change is that if the new ship has the capacity then the cargo moves across. You don't have to be empty. It's only where you have more cargo than can fit in the new ship that you have an issue.

But that's how it works in live now.

Does it? Bugger. I wonder how much time and effort I've wasted not knowing it had changed then?
I'm sure it never used to do that...... OK, I'm not sure any more.

I believe it was introduced with 2.1 so not that long ago.

One annoying other problem has not changed: You cannot switch ships if you have a limpet on board, you need to sell them via restock. And that is now hidden behind the "advanced maintenance" options.

About sounds, how about those "planet sounds" in the system map, they are quite quiet now, they used to be much louder so it was easier to guess the type of planet from sounds alone. Are they any better in beta now?
