Super Long Passenger Missions

Unless I am wrong, I need help understanding the benefit of taking Super Long Passenger Missions the way they have them structured. I found the following mission this morning:
10.6 mil cr with 3 stops, and a distance of 21,710.50 LY.
Assuming the following :
You could actually jump 50 LY each time you jump
You could actually make and complete each jump in 5 seconds
You waist little or no time refueling, interdictions, fighting, or looking for destinations
You would spend at least 36 hours of constant jumping to reach your destination ( Do not forget the return trip )
I know these assumptions stretch reality, but it helps make my point.

I make 10 mil + an hour just hacking around the galaxy depending on what I am doing. What am I missing that would benefit me or make me want to do one of those long missions

Thanks

It's not all about making money.

How do you make 10m per hour?

Long completion deadline allow you to do some exploring along the way, not only do you get money from the mission it self, the largest proportion of the payout would be when you hand in your exploration data.

One, like Walter said, it's not always about the money.

Second.

Long range passenger missions got borked (along with the patch and tweaks yesterday) and are now considered bugged in regards to payouts.

I'd like to know how you're making 10m an hour in this meta?

I agree with everyone above - you take it to see the universe and boost your exploration rank and make your money there.

I have found it more lucrative to wait for the occasional 5M to 17M celebrity sightseeing tour. These usually require 3 to 4 stop and scans, but they pay better than the long range missions if you're after quicker turn around time. I currently run an Asp Explorer with a First Class cabin loadout. I just do one contract at a time. Rebuy is low, so I can risk taking criminals if I want to.

I used to do trading missions, but talk about nerfed! Those hardly seem worth it anymore.

I took a longer passenger mission just because I wanted to last week. It wasn't 21k LY, but it was a few thousand, anyway. It was my first trip outside the bubble, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Payout was a significant portion of my total funds, but I'm still new, so I don't have the large bank accounts of some others.

I'm on the "Enjoy the trip for the journey, not necessarily the destination (ie payout)" train. But, to each their own. We have plenty of other things to do if long haul taxiing doesn't satisfy.

I had 2 missions, each 6k ly out at the same system, one for 20 mil and one for 40 mil. Downside: both needed luxury cabins. My Baluga made 31,74 ly at max, so it took me a while. It was not only for the cash it was also for the data.

I believe Skimmer Strikes can still pay really well, plus if your reputation is high with some factions the missions pay considerably more.
