Help! I'm lost

Hello fellow CMDR's. A little information to start.
I'm playing on Xbox, I have Horizon's and have just recently started playing.
I'm pretty good with the controls and general things, such as Supercruise and Docking. However I am a bit... I mean a lot overwhelmed by this game. I restarted last night as I got myself into a pretty crappy predicament and just needed to refresh but I'm unsure what to do or where to go.
Some things I'd like to know,
- Is there a specific area of the bubble where Mobius folk like to hang out and do missions?
- Is there any particular missions I should be doing?
- Is there anything I should avoid?

As previously stated, I'm really overwhelmed. I currently have the starter sidewinder and I believe an Eagle for hunting and fast trips, also about 40,000cr in the bank. Any suggestions would be super appreciated and if there are any questions of me please ask. Thank you so much!

Mobius's base system is Azrael. Rafferty's Mobius is the main base. Plenty of missions available there. You've just got to do your own thing, depending on your play style. Everyone's different. I did some trading to get cash and then went exploring. Just take it easy and don't take on more than you can handle....

Thanks, I'm leaning towards trading and bounty hunting. Exploring sounds cool but I'd be waiting until I have a better ship, that and its terrifying to get stuck out in space lol I need a better understanding of the systems before I attempt that again.

Exploring is so easy it's positively dull.

Only things you need are the two scanners and a fuel scoop.
And the little limerick of.
"Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me".

Forgot to capitalise the 'A'.

Actually, it's FOG KBAM, as in, you drive too fast in the fog, and kbam, you're in an accident.

I find this easier to remember, because it's far more likely that I will get in a car crash than a fine girl kissing me. :ugeek:

Mine still remain the nerdier, since it also maintains the order of hottest to coolest. :D
The 'A' in the 'and' should have been capitalised though.

Dammit, not a second A at all.
fixing.

Thank you all so much for your help! Very welcoming group out here. Once I've got a bigger ship I would be interested in doing some Wing Missions with you folks!

Azrael, it's deep in Empire space, but the Order of Mobius is not aligned to the Empire, or any major power. Apart from that you find people around the Engineers, and at Community Goals (CGs). However, space is big (and ED's instancing flaky) so don't be surprised if you go for ages without seeing anyone.

The ones you enjoy. Take your time, try a variety of things and work out what you like.

The things you don't like.

ED can be big and daunting, with a steep learning curve, however it's also not a race so you can take as long as you like. Set yourself goals that require you to do the things you enjoy, don't obsess about some perceived end game (there isn't one), don't worry about being rich (the credits will come), don't rush to get the biggest ships (the smaller ones are just as fun), don't grind (you'll just get bored).

Think of ED as a toy rather than a game, make your own adventures, or just revel in being able to fly a space ship, the important thing is to have fun.

Oh, and don't fly without insurance, seriously don't.
