Performance Issues

Postby Nomadski » Mon Apr 06, 2015 11:03 pm

Got a decently high spec (i7 16gb ram 780 GTX 3gbvram) pc, and playing generally with smooth framerates. I know supercruising near planets brings a lot of stuttering to players, as it does me, but I also get judders as I'm in the first part of hyperspace jumps, and if I look down at the avatars throttle, the display goes incredibly low res / fuzzy, before becoming sharp again, during this moment of juddering.

The game generally runs smooth, which makes these moments of poor performance all the more jarring.

Anybody get the same?

I noticed some stuttering as well lately. Seemed to happen after the last update. When it happens I notice its doing a bunch of HD activity. So today I plan on running a defrag and make sure that the game assets are not too fragmented and see if that is an issue.

That is the only thing I have noticed when it happens. Anyone else?

Only issues I've noticed are the occasional pauses/frame skips when entering supercruise and some random fps drops when cruising inside a station. Also the on-board computer sometimes skips the countdown. It's kinda funny actually when she goes like: "Friendship drive charging.." ....... "One! GO!" Almost like when kids cheat themselves a head start in a race

My specs are i7@4,5GHz, 16GB ram, 3GB GTX780

Scooping fuel is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First check the target is hot enough,
then approach slowly. Once close enough, pull out your scoop and fill her up. After you're done just
gently pull away, turn around and leave.

Ya my rig can definitely handle anything this can can push out, running two 970s but I get severe dips while in jump and resource and in station, gets bad when im in a big fight too, but I just deal, glad others are experiencing the same, only cause I know its the game, its always been choppy even back in early beta, ive wiped all files from my computer and started from scratch as of this morning and still pretty bad.

By the way the she bot totally says friendship drive haha I had to take a double take, I know its not what she says but its sure sounds like it, and I get the 1 go

I get studdering, though it clears up once I've been in game a bit. They've apparently identified an issue and plan on fixing it with power play:

"One last piece of news for Powerplay before I sign off for this week and that is an improvement to how we cache shaders, especially for celestial objects like planets and stars, which is one of the causes for stutters that have been identified. We’ll continue to investigate other causes."

Looking forward to the patch for this among other things.
