Yeah, same as others in this thread. If Oculus had got this out 12 months ago they would have got my money, but they took waaaaay too long and everything indicates that the rival products are going to be much better, so.. Meh.

Also, I had access to a DK2 and played ED with it a few times, which cured me of the 'must have the SHINY' urges.

I still need to find out more about how they work for people with bad vision. My right eye is my strong eye and it's not so great these last 5-10 years. My left eye is total shit by comparison. I can get by with reading glasses because my brain somehow ignores the blurriness in my left eye. I assume that they have a main focus and a diopter adjustment like with binoculars and you can leave the glasses behind. I'm hoping that the brain can still compensate using the VR technology. And worst case, I'm hoping that corrective eye wear will solve any problems with focusing - it's probably time I got some prescription glasses anyway.
It's time to give this another go.

I have a pretty strong prescription (+5.25 in both eyes) and an astygmatism, and had no trouble using an OR DK2 wearing my glasses underneath (I'm unable to wear contact lenses due to an issue with my optic nerve meaning I cannot restrict oxygen absorption)

$599 - I'm tempted, but I think I'll take a wait-and-see attitude.
It's time to give this another go.

And it won't ship for five months aparantly, you know what I might as well just save some money til then, and perhaps pick one off our version of craigslist for less.

$599 USD, but £499 UKP
My currency converter has $599 as equating to £409.72
£499 = $729.49
Even if that included UK VAT tax.

You know it has been a long day at work when you think that UK VAT is only 1.75%
Good job I was not calculating the fuel for a moon landing...

Maybe if they dropped the useless (to me) Xbone controller and a game I don't want (EVE anything), and the price was $450, then maybe. $600 with the extra garbage? No.
