GPU comparison chart

I'm currently running an AMD 6700 HD in my rig. It's a bit old now, but it was £120 when I got it. I think it's the bottleneck in my system, as it's running at 100% on medium settings. I'm pegged at 60fps by choice, but in a RES I'm getting down to 45fps and in station 30fps.

My CPU never goes over 30%.

Is there a definitive table or some other way to compare entry-level GPUs with the 6700? I can't justify £120 on a replacement, but it might be that the current crop of entry-level cards are better than this thing despite their price.

This is the site you need: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

I'd advise running the sites benchmark software against your current card to give you an idea of how it stacks up before spending any money but once you do set a final budget remember that buying a new card isn't the only option, you can quite often get a great deal on a second hand card on ebay.

I run two GTX 580`s @ 1920x1200 with everything on full and it runs a like a dream tbh. I can only see me upgrading for VR later in the year or maybe for superwide screen monitor than i keep putting off and on.

780 classified. 6080 x 1080. Vsync. Constant 60 fps except inside stations where it can dip to 40 ish.

I have another pc which runs 2x460 gtx and that runs well on high. Can't specify frame rate as never really checked on that one.

Pressing CTRL-F in game will give you an FPS counter. Press again to close.

CTRL-B gives you a bandwidth meter.

Gorf,

PM me if you are interested in the Radeon 7950, its not a bad card, just mid-ranged now and I took the plunge for the Nvidia 970 because of a nice sale over the holidays. But this could work in a pinch if you are saving up for a higher end card. I'd sell it to you for the cost of the shipping, whatever that is from Virginia USA to your location.

EVGA GT 740 SC (Super Clocked, tongue in cheek, but it was the end of my budget).

Lucky to get 26 FPS in space stations on Low. 30 Outside. Occasionally 60 in deep space with a following Solar wind. Capped in game at 60Hz.
