I decided months ago that the HTC/Valve Vive would be my choice over the Rift. The very first reports from earlier this year, from people who had the chance to try both, were almost unanimous...the Vive was/is better.

Very interesting. Price point and spec requirements are issues of course, but it's nice with a bit of choice.

Indeed, looks to finally have something interesting to happen next year

Personally I will wait to form an opinion until something is out and if there is going to be a format war. If it is I suspect steam and HTC to have the upper hand when it comes to pushing games to adopt.
then again Facebook certainly isn't short on cash or influence. But I certainly don't like having lifeInvader in more places than I already do.
And if I for instance would have to link my oculus to Facebook, then that's an immediate no go in my book.

Agreed...I should have clarified my point. From the info I have now, I would choose the Vive if I HAD to make a decision right now. But of course it depends on the final product and the tests/reviews after both are released to the public. I've never been the type to try and be one of the first to jump on a brand new product. I'll wait for the masses to do the testing and then form a buying decision afterwards.

I might just wait for 16K hemispherical domed 3D screens. After they've got 10 Way SLI. You know the one where the various control set ups raise up from the floor on an attenuator (as well as beer cooler, tissues and the like

).
I've got the prototype drawings but unfortunately they're a bit old and the crayon has faded out a bit and there's a Ribena stain across the page.

You just had to go and say it, didn't you...
God I loved Ribena.
Is it still good, you know?

Haven't had Ribena for years. Might get some later. I'll report back

We are probably more likely to have fully star trek functional holodecks before then

Just imagine what that would do for porn industry alone.
Not just gaming....

All right, settle down now.
Now Ribena with milk on the other hand. Talk about mouth watering...
