Hi.

I'm interested in what rigs you play ED(H) on.

Here's mine:

(It's a custom built labtop)

Octane Series 17.3" Matte Full HD IPS LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
Intel Core i7 Quad Core i7-6700k (4.00GHz) 8MB Cache
64GB HyperX IMPACT 2133MHz Sodium DDR4 (4x 16GB) RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980 Desktop - 8.0GB DDR5 Video RAM
960 HyperX SAVAGE 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 560MB/sR | 530MB/sW)
750GB WD BLACK 2.5" WD7500BPKX, SATA 6b/s, 16MB CACHE (7200 rpm)
Genuine Windows 10 Home-64 bit Pro

With graphics settings on as high as they can go I get 75 FPS during play.

I'm playing on an Asus N750jv.
I replaced the BD Drive with a 440GB SSD though.

This is whats currently in the Laptop:

CPU: Intel i7-4700HQ @2.4GHz(up to 3.27GHz in overclocked mode)
RAM: 8GB DDR3 Stock Ram(Kingston iirc)
GPU's: Intel onboard, Nvidia GT 750m
Main: 440GB Sandisk SSD
Secondary: Stock 1TB Seagate HDD

Game probably runs on 30 fps and about 20 when I just look at a planet.
Loadingtimes are long which is weird since I'm loading th game from the SSD(probably the GPU that takes so long)

I wish I had enough money to buy something better ;-;
Sad that building one myself isn't an option because no one seems to have a QWERTZ keyboard option.

If anyone knows a build your own Laptop site that has QWERTZ keyboards available please tell me.

EDIT: Found one. Costs a lot though.

Put it this way, I don't even have an 'i' in front of my processor number and 8GB is the most my MB will take.

That said I have a ASUS GTX970 fitted and still get a constant 60fps with nearly all setting maxed out or on High. On planets I get 53 to 60fps with max settings.

With a decent GPU ED:H is very forgiving.

I have software on my labtop that allows me to overclock my CPU, but I'm too scared to do it in case it breaks my CPU.

Hmm, I think most of my rig is about 6 years old

i7 2600k (running a slight overclock)
8 Gb memory (considering adding to this, but I've not noticed any problems)
GTX 970 doing the graphics
There a small SSD and a normal HD in there somewhere
2 monitors, a 2560 x 1080 28" main screen and a 1920 x 1080 second screen
Windows 10.

Seeing a fairly constant 60hz framerate.

I don't chance it in notebooks. But then again, overclocking, especially overvolting -- beyond the tested rating -- usually reduces the life of any CPU any way, so I stopped doing it long ago. I've seen the effects under a SEM.

Those old SandyBridge (ix-2xxx) generation products are still very potent. I originally ran on a i5-2500K with a GTX 660Ti 2GiB.

I've posted in a couple of threads here, as I've been Mini-ITX almost exclusively for the past decade. Probably one of the more involved ones with info and pics is here:

Main system: i7-5820k, 980Ti, 16 GB, Windows 10 (blech)
Periphs: Logitech K520/M310 wireless desktop, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick, Steelseries Sibera 800 headset, NEC P232W
Tools: Captain's Log, EDDiscovery. Tried Voice Attack, but got nowhere, must be the accent (not a native speaker).

With ultra details, maximum FOV, about 150 FPS in SC in a populated system, up to 300 FPS when exploring unpoluated systems. Drops to about 100-120 FPS if there is a lot of action (currently in the Low CZ to test). Haven't tried planetary with 2.1 yet.

PS: And a rather repressive firewall between the gaming rig and the rest of my home network: The Windows 10 box may get DNS and time from the main router (FreeBSD 10.x) and talk to the internet via NAT. And that's it  Data exchange only via USB thumbdrive
